What if I don't like my medication?

Your treatment plan, created in collaboration with your provider, is tailored to help manage your symptoms and support your mental health. However, adjustments to your regimen or medications might sometimes be necessary. If you’re experiencing side effects from a medication, please don’t hesitate to call us at 864-676-9211 during our business hours of 8am to 4pm Monday through Thursday or fill out this contact form and select the appropriate option.

If you believe a change in medication is needed, we encourage you to schedule an appointment with our team. For your safety, any modifications to your medication will only be made during a scheduled visit.

If my medication is not working, can I just stop taking it?

If you feel that your medication isn’t working as expected or is making you feel worse, please don’t stop taking it without first consulting your provider. Some medications or dosages require gradual tapering, rather than an abrupt stop. Discontinuing these medications suddenly can lead to severe side effects, potentially more intense than your original symptoms. Please contact our office at 864=676-9211 so we can get you in touch with your clinical team. Your safety is our top priority.

What is a prior authorization?
  • Many insurance companies require prior authorizations for new medication prescriptions.
  • Typically, pharmacies will fax these requests to our office for processing. To avoid delays, please ensure your pharmacy has our correct fax number.
  • However, it’s important to note that the final decision is made by your insurance company, which may take 2-5 business days to respond.
  • While we work diligently to expedite and advocate for your medication approval, the final outcome is determined by the insurance company. We appreciate your patience during this process.
What if I need to switch insurance?
  • If you’ve had any changes in your insurance, whether it’s a new policy or a different provider, it’s important to notify our office promptly. Call our billing office at us at 855-558-4649 between the hours of 8am and 4pm Monday through Thursday.  We will update your chart, but we will require a picture of your new insurance policy.
  • Keeping your information current helps prevent billing issues or delays in medication approvals, ensuring uninterrupted care.
  • Failing to inform us of changes could result in confusion and unexpected costs from both the pharmacy and your insurance.
